But is he really meant to work at a restricting company like Grapefruit Tech, or will he use his imagination and quick thinking for something greater? When two of the city's leading journalists are kidnapped, Trevor Stirling is forced to decide.
Black Shadow: The Beginning is an 82-page graphic novel which I wrote in collaboration with Enrique Kortright Jr. I created the character designs, artwork, and script.

Black Shadow and the Protectors is a comic book series that takes place after the events of Black Shadow: The Beginning. It follows the adventures of Trevor Stirling as he learns to work with Bat Ray and Water Woman on their superhero team called the Protectors.

CHARACTERS
BLACK SHADOW
Trevor Stirling, aka The Black Shadow, is recruited onto the Protectors when he uses his creativity and courage to rescue people trapped in a basement by the villain Malware. Now, as the only member of the team without powers, The Black Shadow uses his new inventions to fight villains and save lives. Unlike team leader Bat Ray, Trevor sees the good in everyone and would rather try to convince villains to change their ways than defeat them.
WATER WOMAN
Claire Fontaine, aka Water Woman, has the ability to manipulate and breathe under water. She dedicates her life to protecting the ocean and the people around it. This sometimes causes conflict with Bat Ray, who would rather Claire, his original partner on the Protectors, spend more time helping him in his fight against criminals. Often feeling out of place in Urbania with the Protectors, Claire may soon discover the secrets of her mysterious past.
THE TIGER
Conor "Mike" Michaels, aka The Tiger, was a star football player in high school. But after developing a rare disease and undergoing an experimental treatment, Conor gains tiger-like abilities and is removed from the team. Believing his life is ruined, The Tiger turns to a life of crime. But can Trevor convince him to let go of his bitterness and use his powers
for good?
BAT RAY
In a world where no superheroes are left, Raymond "Ray" Marino, aka Bat Ray, founds the Protectors to fight for justice. He uses a metal stingray tail to channel his electrical powers. Constantly haunted by his tragic past, Bat Ray will not rest until he rids Urbania of criminals.
